On December 20th, 2007, the 12th National Symposium on Direct Selling was held in the Sunshine Hall, Yingjie Exchange Center, Peking University. Dr. Sun Xuanzhong, dean of Business School, presented at the meeting and presided at the discussion of "Study on the legal issues of foreign investors’ entering into China’s direct selling Market". Some of the graduates of Business Management from CUPL also attended the meeting.
Sponsored by the direct selling research centers of Peking University and Zhong Shan University in Taiwan, and was convened by Professor Chen Defa of Peking University, the theme of the symposium was healthy development of China’s direct selling market, which depends on “good cooperation among direct sells supervising organs, researchers and practitioners” as Dr. Sun Xuanzhong put it.
During the meeting the best thesis in 2007 on direct selling was read, and issues such as the image of direct selling business, assessment, consumers’ loyalty and right to pulling back orders were discussed in a constructive and much heated way.
The symposium provides a platform for exchanges among direct sells supervising organs, researchers and practitioners. It also serves as a propeller to the development of China’s direct selling market as well as the academic exchanges between both sides of Taiwan Strait.
