Professor Zhou Maorong, Vice-Dean of International Affaires Institute of Wuhan University spoke on “the regional collectivization tendency and China” at the “Maestro Forum” held on April 17, 2008. Sponsored by the Business School, the forum was hosted by Li Xiao, Vice-Dean of Business School, and was attended by 200 teachers and students.
Before the forum, Vice-President Zhang Baosheng met with Professor Zhou Maorong, and extended welcome and thanks to his arrival.
Professor Zhou Maorong holds that the regional collectivization had become most obvious in the present world economics, one of most significant tendencies, compatible with the economic globalization tendency, already and will continue to impact the world economics politics pattern. He elaborates from six aspects: The main performance since the regional collectivization's definition, regional groups' type, the postwar regional collectivization tendency's development, the mid-80s the regional collectivization tendency has surged upward and swift and violent develops the reason which, the mid-80s the regional collectivization tendency strengthens obviously, and what China to do in dealing with the region collectivization tendency forward the development. In view of the above six aspects, Zhou Maorong made elaborate analysis. First, the reason which and the developing process produced to the European Union has given the detailed explanation. Simultaneously he has made the key introduction to Free Trade Area of the American's formation, and thought that the Americas economic cycle the composition is imperative.
In the inquiry session, the students proposed many questions on the regional collectivization tendency, and Professor Zhou Maorong made detailed explanation one by one.
